On Sunday 14th September 2025, Adam Fieldhouse will be taking part in the IRONMAN World Championships in Nice, France. He qualified last September from IRONMAN Wales in a fantastic time of 10 hours and 12 minutes. The event is trackable using the following link: 2025 IRONMAN World Championship - Men's Race » RTRT.me
Good luck Adam!
Fantastic achievement by Adam. We hope the support team has a great week in France - send us some photos. Judy & Roger
Go Adam! Well done for qualifying, will be tracking.
We hope you have a great event - we’ll be tracking you. Good luck Ray & Sue
On Sunday 7th, Adam went out to trial the descent of the bike course. There are plenty of hairpins and spectacular views including rocky archways.
Yesterday (Thursday 11th) Adam registered for his IRONMAN. We both got matching tattoos, saw the race favourites and avoided purchasing any over-priced merchandise. #404
Hope all goes well Bib404! Roger and Judy will be watching!
All the best for the race Adam
Our little 60km cycle in the mountains in Asturias here in N Spain today seem pretty inconsequential by comparison to what you’re going to be put through
Nice tattoos! ![]()

This afternoon, Adam set up his Transition stage with thousands of other competitors. It’s all getting exciting and very real now!
Amazing amount of information available on tracker. We are following his 200km cycle route- 50km in 1hr45!
Adam finished his IRONMAN in an amazing time of 10:03:38! He is very stiff and tired now!
Lots of photos and a write up to follow soon!
Well done Adam, that is a superb effort. And thanks Hazel for all the updates this week. Looking forward to the full story.
Congratulations and well done for an improved time in a tougher area. We look forward to more coverage on local media!
2 days later and Adam is still hobbling around and should hopefully recover in a week or two (I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the first option!).
Adam started on the front line of the swim at 7:15, just after sunrise. It was a brutal start and after 300m, his goggles were punched off due to the competitive nature, but after that, Adam got into a good rhythm and was out of the water in 1:02. We were scattered along the beach by the swim exist and transition to watch Adam start the next stage.
Onto the bike, and the course was very tough, climbing upto 1200m, then descended along some spectacular but very technical roads back into Nice. By this point, after 5:34 of cycling, Adam was feeling fairly exhausted and sceptical of being able to run a marathon.
However, he persevered and battled the heat for the remaining 26.2 miles of the race, up and down the sea front grabbing ice, cola and gels at every opportunity. With a 4 lap run, we were there to see him come past every time, looking more exhausted each time. The run took 3:17 which gave Adam an overall time of 10:03:34 and an overall position of 237th and 45th in his age category.
Thanks to all the amazing support and atmosphere, Adam held off the cramp and ran strong all the way to the finish line.
As soon as the finish line was crossed, Adam’s legs and body have been in constant pain ever since and still haven’t improved much.
