CompassSport Trophy – Affpuddle, 22 February 2026

CompassSport Trophy – Affpuddle, 22 February 2026

Wimborne Orienteers (WIM) will be hosting our South‑West CompassSport Trophy qualifying round at Affpuddle, near Dorchester, on Sunday 22 February 2026. This is the main national inter‑club competition for clubs like QO, with juniors, seniors and veterans all contributing to the overall team score.

It’s a brilliant club day out in quality forest terrain: everyone runs a normal colour‑coded course, but your run also scores points for QO against other South‑West clubs. You don’t need to be fast or very experienced – a big turnout of QO vests is what really makes the difference and creates a great club atmosphere.

More details (finalised start window, travel plans, how to enter, and which age classes run which course) will follow once WIM publish full event details and entries open. For now, please:

  • Put Sunday 22 February 2026 at Affpuddle in your diary
  • Think about family and friends who might enjoy a first bigger event
  • Watch this chat for a call‑up and entry instructions from your club captain

If you already know you’re keen to run for QO at Affpuddle, please reply here so a provisional team list can start to be built.

Count me in please, Pete. Ran there in February, enjoyed it, unusual wood with lots of big depressions. A mini bus shuttle from a big car park added to the fun that day.

Hi Pete - Please include me – will run whatever is needed. Steve R

Hi Pete, As I understand things, all ‘competitive’ entries must be made by the Team Captain and the easiest counting course is the Orange (ie no White or Yellow). If you could confirm this, and let me know what details you need to make the entries (ie preferred courses for age groups), I’ll promote this amongst families and juniors. Thanks, Ray

@Pete Bee will run Orange too :+1:

Hi Ray, yes you are correct and I need to finalize the team before the 13th. I have everyone above included and a few others that have contacted me. If you could pass on my email QOcaptain@outlook.com and request they email me with name, age, BOF number, SI number, and preferred course. Course details etc here:
