British Orienteering AGM

Interesting agenda item in the British Orienteering AGM.
There are 2 proposals for levy: option A is the current system with extra levy charged on non-members, option B will replace this with equal levy for members and non-members alike.
In recent years QO has chosen not to pass the extra levy on to our customers and so effectively the members susidise the non-members.
Is this acceptable?
I think so. Costs in our sport are remarkably low compared to other activities, but in my view it looks petty and unwelcoming to charge non-members an extra pound. I’m sure we’d all agree that we want to encourage newcomers, and a flat rate looks fair and inclusive to me.
So I have voted option B.
Have your say and vote - you have until 4pm May 15th.

The background to the proposals is set out on the BOF website. Having waded through this another aspect is mentioned for the future - decision to remove non member public liability insurance from 2026. There is nothing about what this means for clubs holding events. Should clubs allow uninsured competitors to take part? Will landowners permit uninsured individuals to take part? The public liability insurance is one of the documents that forms part of the permissions application. WHO knows?!
